Clean Chennai Initiative

College of Engineering Trivandrum is the oldest and finest technical institutions in Kerala and South India. It’s alumni association’s Chennai chapter, CETAA Chennai has been active for past seven years. During these years CETAAC was involved in many social initiative programs by setting a bench mark for all other associations. Social initiatives in Chennai was their primary aim over the years. One such initiative was held during the floods of December 2015, by helping the flood victims. The aid was channelled from CET alumni across the globe.

Another successful campaign was the "Tree Planting campaign" which was proceeded in association with one of the top leading NGO's, "Care Earth Trust". It was held on February, 2018. The new resolution that CETAAC members was for the cleanliness of the city, Chennai. The initiative was "Break Plastic Pollution" and their contribution towards it. The main aim of the initiative is to segregate the waste into recyclable and non recyclable ones. Even though there are separate bins for both, people do not dispose the waste accordingly. Hence CETAAC has planned certain activities in order to achieve proper waste disposal. The above mentioned activities include pasting two different stickers on the garbage bins that clearly states the difference between the recyclable and non recyclable ones, educating the households and coorperate sectors on how to segregate and dispose the waste.
